Borra Caves sit deep inside the Ananthagiri hills of the Araku region at around 705 metres. Inside you will find huge natural rock formations shaped by water over centuries, lit with colourful lights. A local Shivling formation makes it a spot of faith as well as nature.
Limestone and flowing water created stalactites and stalagmites in different shapes that guides love to point out.
A built path with steps and railings takes you through the main cave. Comfortable shoes make the walk easier.

Borra Caves are about 90 km from Visakhapatnam, around 3 hours by road on the scenic ghat route to Araku. You can also reach by the Araku tourist train, which stops at Borra. We arrange a private cab with pickup from your location so you can combine the caves with Araku sightseeing.
October to February is ideal with cool, pleasant weather for the drive and the walk. The monsoon makes the surrounding hills green and the nearby Katiki Waterfalls fuller, but the path inside can get slightly damp. Mornings are less crowded.
